Old Cut-and-Paste Joan R. of New Baltimore is at it again.
And she’s been had…AGAIN!

YES! You are, Joanie!

She’s already on a watch-list for her abuse of the Postal Service. She misused the Postal Service to send out defamatory and fake facts about a local resident to various vendors, apparently hoping to ruin his business. Her attempts failed because no one took her rubbish seriously. Besides, the vendors knew the resident well and trusted him. Why would they believe a lunatic with no name.

Well, she may have thought she had done her dirty work anonymously but she overlooked a couple of things, the most incriminating were the fingerprints on the contents and the envelopes. There were other identifiers, but we don’t want to give it all away it might spoil the fun. Thinks she’s pretty slick but she’s actually pretty stupid.

Most recently, she tried to slander a local resident when she handed the manager of a local YMCA a copy of one of our Smalbany blog articles, and saying that the resident, a member of the Y, had written it, apparently hoping to damage his reputation at the facility. All she managed to do was cause to facility manager a lot of grief and personal suffering. But at least the manager knows now what JR is all about. Enjoy your yoga classes, JOANIE! You too, ROBBIE! (They obviously don’t teach any yogic philosophy or ethics, just how to stretch dried up, wrinkled skin!) Again, her attempt failed and she was identified and now has some explaining to do.

The pair are known in the New Baltimore community as Cut-and-Paste Joan, because of her modus operandi of cutting and pasting her libels and slanders, and he’s the Cryptkeeper, you’d know why if you ever saw him. Seems evne Death doesn’t want them, so they just go on. Their reputations are already shit and the whole community thinks they’re the local village idiots, so she hasn’t lost much. Oh, they’re only “friend” is the former village idiot, Jane A., she’s now in the 2nd runner up position thanks to Joanie and Robbie taking the top and the second positions. Jane A. doesn’t have an icecube’s chance in hell to regain her former idiot status now that Joanie and Robbie have it.

But if the investigation results are used in prosecution, she may lose more than she bargained for.

18 U.S.C. § 1346 provides: For the purposes of this chapter, the term “scheme or artifice to defraud” includes a scheme or artifice to deprive another of the intangible right of honest services. Lower courts have progressively expanded this ruling, finding that the law “puts its imprimatur on the accepted moral standards and condemns conduct which fails to match the ‘reflection of moral uprightness, of fundamental honesty, fair play and right dealing in the general and business life of members of society‘”. That’s the criminal aspect.
The civil aspects include interference with contract, defamation (libel), and a laundry list of other offences.

Not only is Ms Cut-and-Paste liable to be subject to substantial civil penalties for her stupidity, Ms R. may very possibly looking at a considerable jail term — she’s pretty on in years, which proves that age is no barrier to stupidity, and she may die in jail. But then, maybe that’s karma..

An now for the positive news: You’ve probably seen a number of vehicles on streets and roadways in Northern Greene County/Southern Albany County with these bizarre bumper stickers showing “NB“. No, the “NB” doesn’t stand for New Brunswick or Newport Beach; there’s nothing that sophisticated about them. They actually stand for “NO BRAIN” and many Newbaltimorons are doing the public a service by placing those NB stickers on their vehicles, giving everyone fair notice that the operator is “NO BRAIN” from “NEW BALTIMORE.” The stickers are required by local looney law for all Town of New Baltimore employees but especially for those local residents who have earned the distinction of NB, NO BRAIN.  And watch for those bumper stickers. The lunatics are out there but at least now they’re labeled.

Several months ago we published a letter from one of our community members, and and our own comments on the Greene County YMCA, in Coxsackie (read the article at YMCA or YMCA? There’s a BIG difference!).

We have received an update from the community member about steps taken by the Y to improve the situation there, and, at the resident’s request, we are publishing what s/he has to say:

I was recently presented with your blog article in which you quote my letter-to-the-editor regarding the Greene County YMCA and the noise nuisance there. I am since following your blog.

In all fairness and honesty, my letter addressed to you several months ago was accurate and factual. It would therefore be remiss of me if I were not to follow up with an update on the Y’s response to my complaint.

I am very, very pleased to be able to advise you that the Greene County YMCA, particularly its Operations Manager, Ms Jaqueline Whitbeck, and her executive director, Mr Carl Oropallo, have taken considerable steps to respond to my and other members’ concerns relating to the noise nuisance caused by a small minority of an otherwise great community.

Ms Whitbeck went to great lengths to have the offending equipment moved, and to considerable expense to purchase special pads to dampen most of the noise caused by the heavy lifters and their weights.

I am very happy to be able to report on these positive developments, which go largely to the credit of Ms Whitbeck, and to the support she received from her executive director, Mr Oropallo.

P.s. I read your recent post on that evil creature who tried to defame another member using your blog article. I can say that I think you are right on target with your article. My question is why Ms. JR would continue her stupidity? What was her intent and whom did she want to hurt by bringing the blog article to Ms Whitbeck’s attention. All she accomplished was to cause Ms Whitbeck a great deal of pain, and to demonstrate what a scoundrel Ms JR is. Thank you for exposing her.

P.p.s. Do you think Joan will be delivering this one to the Y, too? Not very likely; she won’t be able to milk any dirt from it.
