In an E-mail to local Republican/Conservative/Independence Candidates, Melanie Lekocevic Commits to Publishing the Candidates’ Profiles But No Profiles are Published!

Has New Baltimore Come to This?!?

Thanks to the Johnson Newspaper Corporation, owners of the Catskill-Hudson Newspapers a.k.a. Columbia-Greene Media a.k.a. RegisterStar and better known as the Ravena News Herald, the Greene County News, and the Daily Mail, under Mr John Johnson, chairman, and Mr Mark Vinciguerra, publisher, have turned New Baltimore into a Fascist One-party Town.

That’s right! The candidates’ profiles for the O’Rorke-5, the No-Party, Republicans-running-as-Democrats, the “Your Town” candidates and the “Responsible to the People” candidate were all published in the local rags, the Ravena News Herald, the Greene County News, and the Daily Mail. And Melanie Lekocevic, editor of the Ravena News Herald writes in an October 18, 2013, email, confirming that reporter Jessica Mosier would cover the candidates. She writes:

I spoke with the editor of the Daily Mail about this. Our New Baltimore reporter, Jessica Mosier, will cover your story. Unfortunately she is away for the weekend and can’t make the Sunday event, but she will contact you next week to do a profile of the candidates. Her story would run in the Daily Mail, the Greene County News and the Ravena News-Herald.

 Why were the Republican / Conservative / Independence party Candidates IGNORED by the Johnson Newspaper Corporation-owned Ravena News Herald, the Green County News or the Daily Mail?!?

Why did the editorial staff and publishers of the Catskill-Hudson Newspapers / Columbia Media Group decide NOT to give the New Baltimore Republican / Conservative / Independence party candidates the same publicity, the same space, at the same time they gave it to the O’Rorke-5, who are running under a handful of rag-tag parties, and to all of the Coeymans candidates? Just check out the Ravena News Herald of October 31, 2013. WTF is going on here?

We have a copy of an e-mail response from an advisor to/supporter of the New Baltimore Republican / Conservative / Independence candidates, who tells them in no uncertain terms how he feels the candidates should proceed (QUOTE):

• You should have pressed charges against Janet Angelis for tampering with your campaign signs and violating not only your civil rights but also NYS election law [and criminal law for theft].
•  You should have challenged the New Baltimore prohibiition on protected political speech in the prejudicial letter from the New Baltimore code enforcement dumbass and forced it out into the open so that New Baltimore residents would be aware of the fascists in town hall.
• You should have pursued the issue of intimidation of Mrs Baldwin to remove your signs from her property by “a woman from the church”, the only woman from Mrs Baldwin’s church who had an interest in doing that would have been Janet Brooks, who is concerned about her pension and, in the likely event that she is defeated, would not get as much as her greed demands.
   
  As concerns the Johnson Newspaper Corporation, the Catskill-Hudson Newspapers, the Register Star, the Columbia-Greene Media group or whatever they’re calling themselves, and Mr Johnsnon, Mr Vinciguerra, Ms Lekocevic, and Ms Mosier you have very clear-cut issues that, again, you have not outlined sufficiently to serve adequate notice upon the newspaper group of your damage claims to yourselves, your campaign, and to this community, as well as your demands for restitution and cure of the damage done by their indifference, negligence, or conspiracy.
   
  Vinciguerra is trying to cover his ass by acting ignorant and putting a moronic spin on the situation in a vainglorious attempt to deflect liability and worse from himself, his staff, and his employers. The written record clearly disposes of Vingiguerras meritless arguments for what they are: purest, unmitigated bullshit.
   
  You and your team must petition the Greene County Board of Elections to postpone the elections because you have been egregiously disadvantaged by the said newspapers. This will also serve to draw public attention to the misconduct of the newspapers and to the way political campaigns have been operating and apparently still are operating in this region.
   
  As for the approach to the said newspapers and the concerned employees, from where I am a sitting they have unlawfully influenced the electoral process and the elections. You must demand not only that the Greene County Board of Elections postpone the elections  until you and your colleagues can get equal and equivalent coverage in terms of publication of your profiles in the newspapers mentioned in the Lekocevic email, that is, the same or substantially equivalent treatment as the treatment your opponents received in the same publications. That is the absolute minimum acceptable resolution to this matter. Then and only then can the elections be held with any semblance of justics and fairness.
   
  Once that is done as the only fair and equitable solution to the present incredibly scurrilous and egregious situation
   
  Because of this conspicuous neglect of your team, while the opposition and all other campaigns have been given equal newsprint, your campaign and your candidates have de facto been deleigitimized, disenfranchised, marginalized, deauthenticated and reduced to shadows in this election. The New Baltimore community and New Baltimore residents have been deprived of essential intelligence and substantive facts that would have unquestionably influenced their decisions at the polling places on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. There are civil and possibly criminal consequences in this present situation.
   
  I suggest you get tough, even at this late stage in the game. First things first, though: You must immediately bring this to the attention of the Greene County Board of Elections and get the elections postponed. Too much is at stake her not to make that petition.
   
  Once that is done, you can consult on the legal issues, and the possibility of bringing civil and criminal charges.
   
  Report this incident immediately to the New York State Board of Elections and to the New York State Office of the Attorney General, as well as to the Greene County District Attorney. NOW!!!! Get moving on this!
   
  And if Jean Horne doesn’t support this opinion, move without her! She’s a RINO and is starting to show signs she’s self-destructive and taking the local Republican/Conservative  organization with her.
   
  All of the above MUST be done REGARDLESS of the expected or real outcome of the elections. The outcome of the elections will be important but cannot change the facts.
   
  I will ensure this gets into the right hands for Internet coverage.

How do you feel about all of this, New Baltimore citizens, voters? How about letting the New York State Attorney General know how you feel! How about letting the New York State Board of Elections and the Greene County Board of Elections know how you feel! How about letting Mr Mark Vinciguerra, publisher of the local rags know how you feel!
